About

My name is Andrea and I’m a single mom of two active boys aged almost 7 and 9. Their care and upbringing take most of my time and brain energy but occasionally I find myself with a bit of time in between tasks to think about the stuff outside my immediate world of making sure I earn enough to get food on the table and bills paid, and getting enough sleep to keep my fuse from getting too short.  Oftentimes piecing together the former precludes getting the latter, so it’s usually an all-consuming balancing act.

This blog is an opportunity for me to get those thoughts from in-between tasks out of my head and onto a page. They’ll range from quirky to silly to serious, and could be about any topic at all.  I’m a voracious consumer of information and an analyst by nature.  And though I’ll try, sometimes not even I am able to decipher the wrinkle in time that gets me from A to E without going through B, C, and D on the way.  Maybe you’ll help me fill in the blanks.  In a nice way, of course, because this is a conversation, not an attack forum.

And sometimes I’ll just post a picture I’ve taken.  The earning-a-living side of my life has little to do with the arts, so photography is an occasional creative outlet for me.  I’ve always got my phone out capturing a kid event so it became easy to steal an extra moment to compose a picture just for me. The current header on the site is a picture I took at a playground.  A tree had grown into a well loved piece of play equipment.  The result seemed like a good visual analogy for that space in-between an immovable object and unstoppable force – the same space that  birthed this blog.

As the Kodak people once said, “Let’s see what develops.”
